Introducing the newest member of our family and our team, Gentry.
On October 12, 2024 we welcomed Gentry.
Now, a new Canadian citizen, Gentry, joins us from Bugaboo Old English Sheepdogs in Colorado. We are deeply grateful to Heather and Colton Johnson for entrusting us with this exceptional puppy and for their dedication to breeding such remarkable dogs.
A special thank you to Sue Coston and her friend Gail, whose efforts in safely transporting Gentry to us were invaluable. Their care and attention ensured that Gentry arrived happy and healthy. It was truly a team effort, and we are incredibly appreciative of everyone’s support in bringing him home.

Gentry is an intelligent, spirited, and endlessly entertaining little guy who has already made an impression with his enthusiasm for life and learning. His days are a perfect mix of high energy, heart-melting affection, and just the right amount of attitude to keep things interesting. Known for his hilarious antics, boundless curiosity, and unmistakable opinions on how things should go, Gentry keeps everyone on their toes with his “ripper” energy and penchant for staying busy.
What truly sets Gentry apart, however, is his extraordinary love for learning. He doesn’t just pick up new skills—he masters them instantly. His quick adaptability and sharp mind make him an absolute joy to work with, as he thrives on the opportunity to engage in challenges and exceed expectations. For Gentry, every lesson is a chance to shine, and his eagerness to please is as rewarding as it is inspiring.
When he’s not showcasing his brilliance in training sessions or expressing his well-formed opinions, Gentry is happiest soaking up “huggies,” his signature cuddles that highlight his affectionate side. Despite his high energy and unmistakable confidence, he’s remarkably sweet and has an uncanny ability to balance his love for play with moments of heartfelt connection.
Gentry’s personality is as vibrant as it is lovable, and his combination of intelligence, humour, attitude, and warmth ensures he leaves a lasting impression on everyone he meets.

Titles Achieved
Calendar Shoot November 2024 – Animal Actor Specialty Title
Gentry is a proud Animal Actor, trained to model in photoshoots with poise and charm. To earn this prestigious title, Gentry showcased his real-life modeling skills by starring in his very own dog calendar. Each of the 12 photos was carefully evaluated and approved by an AACE Evaluator, and we extend our gratitude to Ms. Janika Richard for her role in certifying Gentry's achievement. Gentry's natural talent and captivating presence make him a standout in every frame! Good boy, Gentry! You're a star!
In Dogs We Trust | Puppy Class Fall 2024
Gentry completed a comprehensive puppy training program designed to foster confidence, good manners, and essential life skills for young puppies. This six-week course focused on building positive experiences during a critical socialization period, ensuring Gentry is well-adjusted and free from fear or reactivity issues as he matures. Under the guidance of an experienced instructor in London, Ontario, Gentry mastered key obedience exercises. Gentry’s achievements in this program lay a strong foundation for his journey as a confident, well-mannered companion. With his natural eagerness to learn and exceptional focus, he is already proving to be a standout family pet with impeccable behavior! Good boy, Gentry! You're a star!
Agility Level 1 | June 2025
Gentry was introduced to the fundamentals of the sport — including tunnels, jumps, tire work, weave poles, targets, and hind-end awareness — all built into short sequences that challenged both mind and body. At just 10 months old, the course was thoughtfully adjusted to suit his age and stage of physical development, ensuring a safe and positive learning experience. We practiced foundational handler skills and front and blind crosses, focusing on timing, body language, and position to guide Gentry through each course. Using reward-based methods, we emphasized clear communication, connection, and confidence. And Gentry? He approached every new challenge with that unmistakable enthusiasm that makes him such a joy — and always entertaining — to work with. Good boy, Gentry! You're a star!
Level 1 Nosework | October 2025
“Look!” We put that big, beautiful, signature Sheepie nose to work — and Bugaboo Baby Gentry has officially graduated Level 1 Nosework! Under the guidance of Bonnie Hirst, CPDT‑KA and instructor Lindsay Joseph, Gentry was introduced to the fundamentals of scent detection — learning search patterns, odour association, and confidence‑building exercises designed to engage his natural instincts in a focused, rewarding way. He began his scent journey with Birch and Anise, exploring different hides and search setups that built drive, independence, and precision. Anise quickly became his favourite. Our cue for this new skill was “Go look!”, since he already understood search and find it. Once he realized that this new version came with a clear target odour (and high‑value rewards), he was all in — and now, he enthusiastically asks to practice at home, trotting over to his scent boxes and waiting expectantly for his turn to work. We focused on fun, positive learning and setting him up for success every step of the way. Good boy, Gentry! You’re a star!
